Case Study: Thermeco
Supporting Thermeco to become a B Corp
The Challenge:
Thermeco, a leader in energy-efficient windows and doors, specialises in products with thermal breaks that significantly enhance energy and heating efficiency. This not only reduces electricity usage and costs but also supports sustainable practices. The company is committed to a circular production model, actively managing its environmental footprint, and setting high product standards. Additionally, Thermeco prioritises the social well-being of its employees and the broader community. To further validate its sustainable business model, Thermeco sought B Corp certification, which recognises companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
The Process:
Purpose Made conducted a rigorous audit of Thermeco’s operations, focusing on third-party measurement and validation of its products, environmental practices, diversity and inclusion, and staff engagement. This comprehensive assessment was crucial for aligning Thermeco’s operations with the stringent requirements of B Corp certification. Purpose Made then collaborated closely with Thermeco to navigate the certification process.
The Outcome:
In April 2024, Thermeco achieved B Corp certification with a score of 82.8. This certification acknowledges Thermeco’s commitment to a sustainable business model and its role as a steward of environmental and social responsibility. The B Corp certification not only validates Thermeco’s efforts but also enhances its credibility and brand recognition, aligning with consumer demand for authentic and sustainable business practices.
